A business visa is issued to foreigners entering Vietnam for work with enterprises, business, or investment purposes. The business visa may have the codes DN or ĐT, depending on the foreigner’s purpose for entering Vietnam. The visa’s duration can be 01 month, 03 months, up to 01 year, for multiple entries, or a single entry. When the visa is about to expire, if the foreigner wishes to stay in Vietnam, they can apply for a visa extension according to Vietnam’s regulations.

  • Circular No. 04/2015/TT-BCA, dated January 5, 2015, by the Ministry of Public Security, which specifies the forms of documents related to entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam.
  • Circular No. 31/2015/TT-BCA, dated July 6, 2015, providing guidance on visa issuance, temporary residence card issuance, entry-exit permits, and permanent residence for foreigners in Vietnam.

2. Document Requirements:

  • Legal documents of the sponsoring company or enterprise.
  • Valid passport of the foreigner.
  • Form NA5 – Application for visa issuance, extension, or renewal.
  • Work permit or exemption from a work permit for DN or LĐ visa types.
  • Investment certificate or business registration certificate for ĐT visa types.
  • Confirmation of temporary residence from the local police where the foreigner is currently residing in Vietnam.

3. Submission Location:

Applications for extending business visas for foreigners should be submitted to the Immigration Department.

4. Processing Time:

The processing time should not exceed 5 working days from the date of submission of a complete application to the Immigration Department.
